Do you have an onward trip to Disneyland? Few places capture the magic of Disney like this theme park, which offers amazing experiences for kids and pure fun for adults alike. Get ready for magic from the very start of your journey by planning wisely to avoid any unnecessary hassle. So, first things first: which airport is closest to Disneyland? Which airport should be the destination of your flight?

Which Airport to Fly Into for Disneyland

Disneyland is located 43km/26.7 miles from the city center of Paris. So, you’ll need to fly to Paris to visit the world-famous park. That being said, you’ll still need to determine the most suitable airport for your flight, as Paris is served by three airports. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the main airport in the city, as well as one of Europe’s busiest aviation hubs, while Orly Airport (ORY) is another international airport located in the area. Additionally, Paris–Beauvais Airport lies near the city of Beauvais, mainly handling charter and low-cost flights. So, simply saying « Paris » is not enough. You’ll still need to choose one of the three airports.

If you’re already feeling frustrated about planning your journey, don’t let anything take away its magic. All you need to do is keep reading. I hope to make your choice easier and less stressful.

Which Airport is Closest to Disneyland?

So, all three airports lie in Paris. Or at least close to the city. Which one is closest to Disneyland? Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is located 43km/26.7 miles from Disneyland, while Orly Airport lies 47km/29.2 miles from the park. On the other hand, Paris Beauvais Airport can be found near the city of Beauvais, 123km/76.4 miles from the heart of Paris.

Conclusion: Paris CDG Airport is the closest airport to Disneyland, while Orly Airport is located just slightly further from the city. Just to give you an idea, a car ride from CDG Airport to Disneyland lasts about 40 minutes, while car journeys from Orly are 3-5 minutes more time-consuming, at least under normal traffic conditions.

Which Airport Is Cheaper to Fly Into?

Overall, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport handles the vast majority of flights to Paris. However, although it is definitely the most convenient one in terms of availability — serving more destinations with frequent flights — it has a lower percentage of low-cost options. Therefore, CDG is generally not the cheapest airport to fly into for Disneyland.

Orly Airport offers more low-cost flights. Overall, budget airlines have more available routes to Orly than to Charles de Gaulle Airport. Therefore, it’s generally easier to find a cheap flight to ORY than to CDG.

Finally, Beauvais Airport primarily serves budget air carriers. Nevertheless, although you may find a cheap flight to Beauvais, you should also consider the cost of the transit to Disneyland to make up your mind. The airport is located quite far from the park. Thus, unless you find an exceptionally good air ticket deal, traveling to Disneyland via Beauvais is generally not cost-effective once you include ground transportation expenses.

Which is the Most Convenient Airport?

That depends! Charles de Gaulle Airport is unarguably the biggest airport hub, offering numerous services and amenities. Passengers typically enjoy layovers at CDG, exploring its countless shopping and dining options, cultural experiences, and child-friendly facilities, or even relaxing in one of its fancy lounge areas. On the other hand, Charles de Gaulle’s terminals are vast, making them difficult and time-consuming to navigate. Additionally, airport procedures, especially passport control, can be tiring and lengthy, particularly during busy periods. Indeed, crowded terminals are common at CDG.

Orly Airport is a smaller aviation hub, offering several services and amenities, though considerably fewer than Charles de Gaulle Airport. However, it is easier to move around, as it is smaller and less congested.

On the other hand, Beauvais Airport is an even smaller airport, featuring some basic services and amenities. Overall, navigating the airport is easy, and airport procedures are generally smooth.

Which Airport Has the Best Transit to Disneyland?

What transit options are available from each of the three Paris airports? How will you get to Disneyland once you land? Imagine standing at the baggage claim, unsure of your next steps. Been there, done that, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone! Choosing your transit option to Disneyland works two ways: it eases anxiety at the airport and helps you decide which airport to fly into.

You’ll need to catch Shuttle A03 to La Défense and then take the RER A train to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy. The trip lasts around 3 hours and costs 20.40€/24$.

So, Which is the Best Airport for Disneyland?

All things considered, I would recommend flying to Charles de Gaulle Airport. It is a major aviation hub, featuring a wide variety of services and facilities to fully meet its passengers’ needs. Moreover, it offers numerous transit options to Disneyland and is located relatively close to the park. Thus, you’ll easily find an option that suits your preferences and budget. Its main drawback is how busy it gets. Indeed, during peak periods, it can get crowded, making airport procedures lengthier and more tedious.

On the other hand, Orly Airport is also relatively close to Disneyland and offers some solid transportation options, though not as many as Charles de Gaulle. Therefore, if you find a cheap flight to Orly, it’s probably a good choice.

Finally, I wouldn’t fly to Beauvais Airport if my destination were Disneyland. Although many low-cost airlines operate from Beauvais, the airport is about an 85-minute drive from the park. As a result, getting to Disneyland can be inconvenient. You can either take a taxi or private airport transfer, which adds a significant expense to your trip, or opt for the bus or train, making the journey long and tiring.
